Other, non-fibrous topics

Yay! I got my Bitch magazine in the mail today! Something new to read! Except I got 2 of them for some reason, so if someone wants a copy, let me know.

I joined the Bust Girl Wide Web, but I don't have the patience to futz with the button right now.

This pisses me off royally. It's bad enough that this girl lost her family, almost died herself, was assaulted by her "rescuer" and has to deal with all that, but her "worth" in her village has been reduced to zero because of some asshole attacking her. Next time someone tells you that there's no need for feminists because women are equal, tell them about that poor girl.

And on a happier note, I made two small steps in the past few days towards completion of two New Year resolutions. I'm keeping the details close to my vest because...I'm not ready to expose these ideas to the harsh light of day yet, but I'm proud of myself for starting the process.

And that reminds me of a song (sung to the tune of "Be Our Guest" from the Disney Beauty and the Beast:

See my vest, see my vest,
Made from real gorilla chest,
Feel this sweater, there's no better,
Than authentic Irish setter.
See this hat, 'twas my cat,
My evening wear - vampire bat,
These white slippers are albino
African endangered rhino.
Grizzly bear underwear,
Turtles' necks, I've got my share,
Beret of poodle, on my noodle
It shall rest.
Try my red robin suit,
It comes one breast or two,
See my vest, see my vest,
See my vest.
Like my loafers? Former gophers -
It was that or skin my chauffeurs,
But a greyhound fur tuxedo
Would be best.
So let's prepare these dogs,
Kill two for matching clogs,
See my vest, see my vest,
Oh please, won't you see my vest.

My brain makes odd associations sometime. I think the gopher line is my favorite. The first person to correctly identify the source of the song and the singer will receive...hmmm, let's say...my undying admiration and a hearty handshake. Deal?

Hey there, I'll take the other copy - if you still have it - although I have never heard of the magazine before... the title is catchy enough!

Sorry about last night - I didn't get all ready to go until 8:30pm and then I knew FF was going to be closing...

Did you have fun! Let me know when you go again... I NEED TO KNIT!! See you on Sunday!

OOOOOHHHH! I love that little ditty. I sing it all the time. Thank goodness there are people like Monty Burns in this world!
