First - Happy Birthday Melanie!

Second - Happy 1 year Blogiversary to me. Approximately.

Third - Books

57. Dragon's Kin - Anne McCaffrey and Todd McCaffrey.
58. Dragonsblood - Todd McCaffrey.

I love Anne McCaffrey's Pern series. I own most of them and have read all of them at least twice, some many times more. Her son Todd is taking over the stories so they can continue after her death. I'm sorry to say that neither of these two drew me in the way the earlier ones did. The were passable, just not as good as I was expecting.

59. 3rd Degree - James Patterson with Andrew Gross. Not even a twinkie book, more like a twinkie cream filling book. Patterson can write a good story but he's just putting out too much at once and you can tell he rushing things. Meh.

60. The Dive From Clausen's Pier - Ann Packer. October's book club book. I'd read it before and didn't care for. I read it again and still didn't care for it. I think it's mostly the main character, she doesn't make any decisions really, she just drifts around and it bothers me.

61. The World's Shortest Stories - ed by Steve Moss. A birthday gift from Illanna. A book full of 55-word stories. It's amazing what some people can do with only 55 words.

Fourth - thanks for all the concern about Lucy. She seems to be doing fine and I think the anti-inflamatories actully helped her joint stiffness. I haven't found out what she got into but I suspect it was a bee or bug of some sort that bit her tongue as she was biting it. Her tongue is back to normal size and she's back to giving kisses on command.

I just saw your link on Crochet Blogs and thought I'd check it out. I just finished The Dive From Clausen's Pier and I completely agree with you. The story had potential but the main character seemed so one deminsional. Will be back to check your blog again soon!
