Book

55. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close - Jonathan Safran Foer. And tomorrow I go see Everything is Illuminated. It's like a Jonathan Safran Foer extravaganza! I really enjoyed this book, even more than Illuminated. 11 year old Oskar is living his life and trying to deal with his father's death on September 11th. Oskar's a wonderful character that made me laugh and a paragraph later made me cry. There are, of course, flashbacks aplenty (it is a Safran Foer book after all) and tons of interesting characters.

This book also contained the best definition of shyness I've ever read. It's a beautiful thing when you read something that puts your feeling in perfect words.

"Shyness is when you turn your head away from something you want."

The shy among us (leading the pack...Me) know this feeling in our bones.
