Do birds ever lay on their backs, in the sun, moving feebly? Maybe drying out, or getting warm? Or is the sparrow on my back porch just getting ready to die?
Either way: poor birdie...
ETA- it was choice B. Poor birdie.
Why do birds keep chosing my back yard to die in? This is the 4th one since I moved here.

I'm just getting to your posts on my bloglines...POOR BIRDIE! I hated that. My parents had a big backyard, so that happened pretty often. Once I even found a squirrel.
