Better than I thought

So I was writing an email to a friend who was concerned about me, since I've been in this MOOD for a while now. And I was just listing things out, you know "it not really any one thing, it's all these little things at once". When I read back over this list, I was no longer wondering if I was overreacting. Instead I was forced to admit that I was actually handling things relatively well (for me).

I'm not going to bore you all with the list, I've already done that to one person and that's enough. And I'm not looking for sympathy, you guys have supplied enough of that already. It's really just enough to know that I have a real live support system in Arizona, probably for the first time since I moved here 6 years ago.

Repression and denial are wonderful inventions and I use them with reckless abandon. Hey, whatever gets you thru your day, ya know. I apparently just needed to clean out the mental lint trap so it could get refilled with the next load of life. At least I caught it before the dryer broke down. That doesn't always happen.

I gotta say, I love the concept of a "mental lint trap." I know I always feel so much better when mine is cleaned out!
